New Jersey Cyber Aces Academy At Brookdale: A Model For The Nation
New Jersey has the proud distinction of being the first state in the nation to launch a Cyber Aces Academy. Cybersecurity threats are a growing national concern, and there is a shortage of skilled cybersecurity workers with the hands-on skills need to excel in the field.
Established at Brookdale Community College, and funded through a two-year National Science Foundation grant and the SANS Institute, the Academy is testament to the potential power of public-private initiatives. Through the collaborative efforts of Counter Hack Challenges, the SANS Institute, the Cyber Aces Foundation, Brookdale Community College, and the New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education’s office, what started as an idea less than a year ago is a reality being replicated by other states across the nation.
